#ASKMILAN: Nagging Ruined My Relationship… Ways to Avoid It!

If you are guilty of nagging your man, you may want to stop while you still have one!

A lot of folks don’t know that if you are a constant “nagger” chances are, you’re going to end up alone and miserable. In 2012, the Wall Street Journal published an article about nagging — which is defined as “the interaction in which one person repeatedly makes a request that the other person repeatedly ignores and both become increasingly annoyed” — has caused a majority of relationships to lead to breakups including healthy marriages… Yikes!

I once nagged the hell out of my fiance, and stupidly thought, “he would never leave,” but I was wrong. Although he listened less than half the time, our relationship took the utmost turn for the worst when our communication became non-existent and we struggled to stay together.

Don’t try to be his mother.

The last thing you want to do is “be your man’s mother.” This usually leads to resentment. And if your nagging gets to a point where it becomes unbearable, he will be rebellious and may step outside of the relationship.

There’s a lot of single women out there that wouldn’t mind giving him a left or right boob to lay his head on. At this point, you need to stay woke!

Arguments are more about “nagging” rather than serious issues.

This all boils down to understanding each other’s wants and needs. Instead of making him enemy number 1 by dictating how things should be done, try to see his side for a change and also help him to see yours. Working on better communication skills will definitely save and improve your relationship.

Felt unappreciated and irrelevant.

I had to learn the hard way.

If your partner’s repeated wants and needs go often ignored, then your relationship will too become “irrelevant.” But, “I nagged because my man showed zero interest with regards to my feelings,” then if that doesn’t work, you may want to try a different approach.

This is where you know your relationship is in “danger” girl…

He starts to question our relationship.

When your man starts to question the relationship, this should be an instant eye-opener. Whatever you were doing before should come to a stop and be the best “brand new” you can be. You now want him to feel the love and positive energy exuding from your body — not only will this stop him from “second-guessing the relationship” but gives him something new to reflect on and…. a reason to “STAY.”

Also, try to plan weekly or monthly date nights with your guy. If you are a good cook, make him one of his favorite dishes every now and then.
