Q&A: Interracial Couple Talks Dating in 2019

Although this is a very touchy subject and still continues to leave a bitter taste in African American descents, in 2019, we are seeing a growing number of interracial couples.

But what’s the big deal about a black man dating a white woman you ask? Well, believe it or not, “[white] women are looked at as success,” said Nick Cannon during an interview earlier this year. “In America, we see a white woman — ‘I couldn’t have you. My daddy couldn’t have you. My granddaddy couldn’t have you. I would get killed even looking at you.’ So, now, if I play for the NBA, I want ’em all.”

Cannon’s comment, however, sparked a spiritual backlash from social media users. Let’s just say, having mixed-race kids, the unapologetic entrepreneur was well aware of his statement on interracial dating and could care less what happens next.
