Last week, a high school principal was forced to resign after she received an overwhelming backlash following comments she shared about NBA legend, Kobe Bryant, via Facebook.
Bryant’s tragic death in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26th claimed the life of his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant who was among the total of 9 victims who died.
On that same day, Dr. Liza Sejkora, the now-former principal of Camas High School in Camas, Wash., suggested on her Facebook page that Kobe’s death was a result of Karma:
“Not gonna lie. Seems to me that karma caught up with a rapist today.”
Sejkora then released a statement on Friday (Feb. 7) saying:
“I am working with the Camas leadership to resign my position as principal of Camas High School. Students and staff deserve to have a learning environment free of disruptions.”
The former principal’s resignation came shortly after students warned that they would hold a walkout to protest the principal’s comments.
As previously reported, Bryant was accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old hotel employee back in 2003. The charges were later dismissed and a civil case against him was dropped and reports claim he and his lawyers paid a settlement to the victim outside of a courtroom.
