From getting caught up in a lover’s triangle, physical abuse, and social media backlash, TV actress, Karrueche Tran, recently sat down with Big Boy radio to talk about marrying former NFL player Victor Cruz and her bitter ex-boyfriend Chris Brown posting shady comments on her IG page.
The 31-year-old Claws star, who has been dating Cruz since 2017, told Big Boy that being with Cruz is refreshing and so far, it’s been the healthiest relationship she’s been in her young life. “We’re good! We’re happy,” she told the radio host.
When asked if she could see herself marrying the 32-year-old baller, she said “potentially, yeah,” confirming there will be wedding bells ringing soon. Tran also admitted that what makes this relationship different is that she’s finally been given the space to care for herself and someone else simultaneously.
“That I can put myself first and also love someone else at the same time. There’s room for both,” she said. “I think before I was just putting too much energy into one and not giving a [inaudible] about myself, but now — I’m also in a different head space. I’m more career-driven and so I can take care of that. He lives on the east coast, so we have our time together, but then we also have our time apart where he works, and he does his thing and I have my thing and my space and we come back together.”
And when it comes to negative comments online about her relationship, including from her ex, Brown, she said she is unphased.
“At this point, can’t none of that stuff break me,” she said. “I’ve been through the worst of the worst. Y’all know what I’m talking about. By myself, I dealt with some crazy stuff on social media so I don’t let none of that get in between us.”
In the past, Tran has happily gushed over Cruz, saying their relationship is “easy breezy”, “really refreshing”, and that they “mesh very well.”
“[Cruz] is so sweet, like a really nice guy, he’s genuinely kind and it’s so refreshing to be with such a kind, great guy,” she said in 2018. “And it doesn’t hurt that his body is bangin’!”
