Sam Smith Talks Thoughts of Getting A Sex Change, Identifies As Non-Binary & Wants To Be Called ‘they’/’them’

If you are currently wondering, “how does Sam Smith sleep at nights?” Well, you should know that ‘they‘/’them‘ sleep pretty awesome!

The British singer is reportedly having a debate with his management, friends, and family about his decision to no longer be referred to as he or him. Sam, who came out as gay and was once afraid to share to his story with the world, admits that he once considered having a sex change because he grew up not identifying as neither male nor female – but as non-binary gender.

During a recent radio interview, Radio host James Barr was one of the first to take heed to Sam’s wishes about the pronouns used to refer to them with this tweet:

Sam also commented on his new look on life as he prefers the fluidity of ‘they’/’them’ by saying:

“I have a few friends and people in my team who are non-binary and they’re really teaching me stuff I didn’t know before. It’s wonderful…Ever since I was a little boy, ever since I was a little human, I didn’t feel comfortable being a man really. Some days I’ve got my manly side and some days I’ve got my womanly side.”
