#ASKMILAN: He Approached Me, But am I wrong to text first?

So woo-hoo you have graduated after some random (hot guy) approached you and both exchanged numbers during a girls night out to start the one-on-one human interaction.

You were definitely caught off-guard by the instant chemistry. Aren’t we all??

Now, it is the day after a fun night of partying, and you noticed he hasn’t texted you, but because you felt the instant attraction and connection, you are tempted to text him… it’s just that the “golden rule” prohibits the girl to text the guy first.

Decisions, decisions… It’s the middle of the day, yet, no response from the no-doubtingly hot guy from the nightclub. Then your thinking process escalates: Maybe he’ll text [me] tomorrow? He’s probably busy with work and forgot to text me, that’s all?! Either way, you are still fighting back the urge to text him first.

Two months ago I was happily in a relationship, but before that, I was VERY single. In fact, I spent 27 straight years of my life being single (minus confused encounters). Needless to say, I have plenty of experience with the whole “should I or shouldn’t I text him” debacle… and 70% of the time, “I texted first.”

I am just going to get straight to the point…

This might sound like a cliche’, but there shouldn’t be a debate on who should text first as long as the feeling is mutual, don’t be afraid to take that leap of faith and go for what you want. What’s the worse could happen? Chances are he may or may not be everything you dreamed of.

NOTE: If he doesn’t respond back in a timely manner, I know it’s hard, but you deserve a guy who is willing to put in the work to be with you.
